In China normally there are three kinds of Heating Power Source:
Vacuum tube high frequency: vacuum tube high frequency is the most traditional technology with nearly a hundred years history. This technology using the high voltage vacuum triode tube as the main inverter component, make the three phase 380V/50HZ power transfer dozens KHZ to hundreds KHZ high frequency current through voltage regulation, voltage boosting,rectifying, vacuum tube self-oscillation and blocking etc. 2000years ago this technology has been widely used but now is become old-fashion and basically close to the elimination.
SCR Medium Frequency: also known as thyristor,the english symbol SCR. It is using the controlled silicon, make the 380V/50HZ power transfer several KHZ medium frequency current through rectifying, voltage regulating, smoothing wave, filter wave and inverter etc. This technology was rapidly developed in the 1970s to 1980s. In China this technology was widely used in the cookware bottom heating from 2000 to 2008, and was partly used to replace vacuum tube high frequency.
IGBT super-audio frequency: mostly similar with the above-mentioned SCR power source, the difference is that the inverter part adopts the new type high power transistor IGBT (insulated-gate-bipolar transistor) frequency conversion, which is switch speed more faster and the frequency more higher than SCR, normally can reach dozens KHZ. This technology was rapidly developed in 1990s. It has been widely used in the cookware bottom heating machine and has basically replaced the above-mentioned two kinds of power supply.
